SCORING WITH MUSIC!
The Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music (ABRSM), London organized High Scorers’ Concert for Uttar Pradesh region at La Martiniere College on Saturday. Over 100 children participated and displayed their musical genius, thereby enthralling the packed auditorium.
Principals and directors of various schools attended and encouraged the participants. Some highlights were the brass band and the choirs. Speaking on the occasion, La Martiniere College principal Carlyle McFarland highlighted the importance of western classical music in helping students in gaining international exposure.
Amrita Dass, a renowned career counselor, enlightened the students on the various musical opportunities available to them. Hisayoshi Matsui, managing director of Yamaha Music India, shared their plans in improving music education in India. ABRSM representative Sonia Khan spoke about their road map in bringing quality music education and assessment to the young learners.
La Mart team performed Hand in Hand choir while La Martiniere Girl’s choir presented Less of Me. It turned out to be an enjoyable musical evening for the participants, music teachers and parents.
