‘Daddy’s Daughter’, a message for teenagers, parents

The premiere of Lucknowite Abhimanyu Chauhan’s film ‘Daddy’s Daughter’ was held at a city mall recently.

Starring ‘Nil Bate Sannata’ actor Farheen Khan, who also hails from Lucknow, the film is based on father-daughter relationship with a strong message for teenagers and parents.

The film gives the message that if father-daughter relationship is strong, no one can harm a girl.

“This is the story of a class 9 student Pooja who is a simple girl. Roadside Romeos try to woo her but her friend who is very strong scolds them publicly. After the insult, they hatch a plan and pitch another boy who woos her. She thinks it is love but actually it is lust. The movie is an alert and advisory to everyone that girls (even boys) should share everything with family as the outside world is bad,” says Abhimanyu.

Farheen, a B Com-I student at Lucknow University and a resident of Nakkhas, has done some serials including Kaljavee based on Prem Chand’s stories. Farheen has also done theatre. A film ‘Babloo Bachelor’ starring Sharman Joshi was recently shot in the city.

“I could relate with the character very well. It shows what girls go through in real life. Problems come in everyone’s life but if one remains close to parents and shares everything with them, fighting with outside world becomes easier,” says Farheen.

Abhimanyu started his big screen journey with Sunny Deol starrer Gadar that was shot in the city. He was also the associate director of ‘Machhli Jal Ki Rani Hai’.

He is a popular name in the small screen industry and has directed shows like Teen Bahuraniyan, Simply Sapney, Meri Bhabhi, Humari Sister Didi and Ek Mutthi Asmaan.

“The film was shot in AprilMay 2016 in various parts of Lucknow. It was largely shot in Aashiana, Nawabganj, Kudiya Ghat and various parks. We have tried to show our hometown in a beautiful way and literally shot in every part of the city,” he says.

Abhimanyu has also played the role of narrator in the film. Produced by Sonika Singh and Deepa Verma, the film also Mithilesh Chaturvedi, Rajiv Verma, Garima Rastogi, Amit Sinha, Ravi Sharma, Roshini and others.
