It’s no secret that Sonam Kapoor is set to star in the screen adaptation of bestselling novel, The Zoya Factor, which will be directed by Abhishek Sharma. But in the latest instance, we have learnt that before Sonam starts shooting for the film, she is going to have an “extensive meeting” with the book’s author, Anuja Chauhan.

“Yes, Sonam has already got into the prep mode and her meeting with Anuja is a part of it. Being a voracious reader, she has already read the novel but she feels that a heart-toheart chat with the author will help her understand the character (Zoya Solanki) better,” says an insider.

Apparently, Sonam is keen on meeting Anuja because she wants to be “well prepared” before working on a film that also touches upon elements such as superstition and luck. “She wants to understand the story and the psyche of her character in detail to do full justice to it. So, she thought, ‘who better than Anuja to discuss all the nuances with’?” adds the insider.

When contacted, Sonam said: “I’ve read The Zoya Factor and I absolutely loved it. Anuja has lived with the character and the book for so long and [so] she knows it better than anyone else. I look forward to meeting her soon to discuss Zoya [Solanki] before we start shooting.”
