DOCTOR STRANGE IS ‘THRILLED’ WITH HIS MATE IRON MAN
Actor Benedict Cumberbatch is all set to reprise his iconic role of Doctor Strange in the much awaited Avengers: Infinity War, releasing on April 27, and what really excited him was sharing scenes with Robert Downey Jr, who plays Iron Man.
“I was so thrilled with the way that the first film went down, and to think then I’d be part of this amazing assembly, this sort of new wave and just combined with the old wave of Avengers, is really exciting,” says the British actor.
“My first questions,” says Cumberbatch, “were inquiring about what Strange would do [in Avengers] and who he was going to be with. I was really thrilled when I heard that a lot of my stuff was going to be with Robert Downey Jr. It makes sense for those two egos. It made sense to set them head to head and try and fuse out of their very strong personalities some kind of coherent collaboration.”
Interestingly enough, both the actors have played the fictional character of English detective Sherlock Holmes — Downey Jr played the character in two films with period settings; while Cumberbatch played a newage

Cumberbatch continues, “I remember watching Iron Man (2008) and thinking that it was great and that one of my favourite actors was going to be in this successful franchise. I recall thinking how brilliant the character was, but that I really didn’t know the character. I’m very vague on comics, as I didn’t really grow up with much outside of a few English comics.”
Avengers: Infinity War, bringing together characters from the Avengers squad and the Guardians of the Galaxy franchise, is directed by Anthony and Joe Russo.
