She has built 22 high quality steel toilets so far, in government schools of far off rural areas as well as urban areas of Lucknow, under ‘Toilet and hygiene project for girl children’ mission. This work is being done without seeking any grant from the government. She has been visiting schools, identifying the most deserving schools for deployment of toilets, speaking to education departments, school authorities and Nagar Nigam for permission. She has looked closely into rural problems existing due to the lack of toilets and spoken to higher authorities about the solutions. She helps in transporting toilets to target schools and arranging masons and labourers for civil work. She further assists in building soak pits wherever required and educating school children on how to use toilets.
She is set to renovate 50 nonfunctional toilets in government schools in the next phase of the project. She takes classes on the importance of hygiene in various government schools. She has visited around 100 Primary and Upper Primary Government Schools in the last 8 months and compiled data on the status of toilets, building and infrastructure along with electricity supply. She is ready to build bio-toilets in the slum areas and is fighting and making efforts to build toilets wherever they are required. She believes in empowering women by helping them earn their own employment by providing sewing machines. She works towards the wellbeing of children from weaker and underprivileged sections by organizing events with the help of companies like Tata Consultancy Services.
