I am an assistance teacher in Government High School, Lucknow. Since my student life, I have considered philanthropy and social service as my goal. Over the past 10 years, I have tried to give my best in teaching, understanding the basic problems of students and trying to bring them into the main stream. There are hundreds of such examples. I am in charge of the Lucknow unit of ‘Kavyashree Seva Sansthan’, a continuously working institution for social development, under which I am trying to bring back the students who had to abandon their studies due to various issues. I also provide sweaters, copies and books to the students by setting up camps for them. I vowed to spend the full amount I receive for the education of 12 students who can no longer pursue their studies. I attempt to develop their character and overall intellectualism through my teachings. Impressed by the hygiene campaign in the slum of Rajajipuram, I gave information about personal and public hygiene to women and adolescent girls by organizing a camp. I also distributed sanitary pads to women, in order to ensure their sanitation. Under the ‘Beti padhao Beti Bachao’ campaign, I have made my contribution by putting up camps for the awareness of the people. Apart from teaching, I am continuing the efforts to give my best to the nation and society by organizing activities such as Beti padhao Beti bachao, sanitation campaign, plantation, tribute meeting to martyrs, self-determination and self-reliance for girls, under the aegis of ‘Kavyashree Seva Sansthan’.
