Harsh Varshan Agarwal is the founder trustee of Help U Educationa­l and Charitable Trust. His focus is on providing help and assistance to the deprived section of the society with special attention on women and girl child.

He has raised his voice against sex selection of unborn child and is committed to bringing

awareness on checking falling child sex ratio. Through his Trust, he organised several rallies to curb the practice of female foeticide, domestic violence and crime against women.

Harsh Vardhan treats gender equality and gender equity as two different aspects and has organised seminars and rallies for awareness of the both. He says gender equality demands empowermen­t of women, with a focus on identifyin­g and redressing power imbalances and giving women more autonomy to manage their own lives. When women are empowered, the entire family is benefited and these benefits often have a ripple effect on future generation­s.

He has organised social and cultural programmes, rallies and procession­s from time to time to create awareness on gender issues.

Harsh Vardhan has also worked in other fields like sensitisin­g every section of the society. He is also a writer and is engaged in promoting spirituali­sm, art, culture and literature. He has co-authored a coffee table book ‘Geeton Ke Darvesh: Gopal Das Neeraj’ and ‘Geeta Girl Mariyam’.
