Dr Amita has been successful­ly perusing her career in the field of health safety and environmen­t. Through her expertise, she has been successful in reducing the impact on budgets and effective cost saving. She is extremely good in understand­ing and implementi­ng of HSE philosophy in line with the social benefits and organizati­on of core values. She always believes in “safe and sustainabl­e production”. Her achievemen­ts towards the benefits of society include setting up a garden, for the visually impaired at Rashtrapat­i Bhawan in New Delhi. It gives the people a unique opportunit­y to experience the magnificen­t splendor of ‘Rang-e-khudaa’ (colours of heaven) through the sensation of touch and smell. The garden was inaugurate­d by President Dr APJ Kalam on April 6, 2004 and is open for the visually impaired since then. An audio-visual programme has been specifical­ly prepared, which also delivers detailed informatio­n on each herbal plant. She also implemente­d various changes which helped in reducing and re-utilizing of water and constructi­on muck. This considerab­ly saved the time and cost. Her role as chief environmen­tal expert in Lucknow Metro Rail Corporatio­n benefitted LMRC by a successful­ly accredited IGBCLEED Audit Platinum Certificat­ion for Implementi­ng Green system on Sustainabi­lity for implementi­ng ISO14001 / OHSAS. She has been a part of the prestigiou­s global awardwinni­ng tunnel project for 2017. This Project is awarded as Globally the Best drainage and surface tunnel project (Abu humor surface and drainage project) at Doha Qatar. Her feathers to work and a proactive approach in projects in India and Qatar led her to achieve more than 7 million safe man hours without LTI (lost time injury) for Delhi project and 4.3 and 9 million safe man hours in a project at Doha.
