Dr Amita has been successfully perusing her career in the field of health safety and environment. Through her expertise, she has been successful in reducing the impact on budgets and effective cost saving. She is extremely good in understanding and implementing of HSE philosophy in line with the social benefits and organization of core values. She always believes in “safe and sustainable production”. Her achievements towards the benefits of society include setting up a garden, for the visually impaired at Rashtrapati Bhawan in New Delhi. It gives the people a unique opportunity to experience the magnificent splendor of ‘Rang-e-khudaa’ (colours of heaven) through the sensation of touch and smell. The garden was inaugurated by President Dr APJ Kalam on April 6, 2004 and is open for the visually impaired since then. An audio-visual programme has been specifically prepared, which also delivers detailed information on each herbal plant. She also implemented various changes which helped in reducing and re-utilizing of water and construction muck. This considerably saved the time and cost. Her role as chief environmental expert in Lucknow Metro Rail Corporation benefitted LMRC by a successfully accredited IGBCLEED Audit Platinum Certification for Implementing Green system on Sustainability for implementing ISO14001 / OHSAS. She has been a part of the prestigious global awardwinning tunnel project for 2017. This Project is awarded as Globally the Best drainage and surface tunnel project (Abu humor surface and drainage project) at Doha Qatar. Her feathers to work and a proactive approach in projects in India and Qatar led her to achieve more than 7 million safe man hours without LTI (lost time injury) for Delhi project and 4.3 and 9 million safe man hours in a project at Doha.
