Rashmi Singh is the joint sec­re­tary of Ashok-Shyama Char­i­ta­ble Trust, Aligarh, and is work­ing for men­strual hy­giene man­age­ment in Aligarh and other districts of Ut­tar Pradesh. She started the move­ment in De­cem­ber 2013 and has reached more than 50,000 girls and women in Aligarh. She also gives ses­sions on men­strual hy­giene man­age­ment in schools through power point pre­sen­ta­tions and then analy­ses stu­dents’ knowl­edge through pre- and post-ses­sion ques­tion­naires. She also or­gan­ised a cul­tural pro­gramme ‘Dance your way’ to make the so­ci­ety aware about men­stru­a­tion and cel­e­brate World Men­strual Hy­giene Day that she ini­ti­ated in Aligarh. Rashmi has also writ­ten a book ‘Wish you happy pe­ri­ods’ on men­stru­a­tion in Hindi to ex­pand its reach. She has nar­rated all myths and facts about men­stru­a­tion in the form of sto­ries.
