Preeti Fauzdar is a dynamic woman with numerous achievements to support her credibility. Apart from being a journalist and a poet she is the founder of ‘Yes We Can ‘ welfare society and runs a play school in addition to being a home maker. As the president of ‘Yes We Can’ welfare society she has been relentlessly working for the upliftment of poor children and women. She provides free education to those who are devoid of education either due to financial reasons or lack of opportunities and further ensures their admission in suitable schools. This has prevented more than 120 children from getting employed in factories or other workplaces. She has stood headstrong against child labour and helped to get rid of it.

She has also adopted a government school at Sevla, in Agra where her society has not only improved the school premise by building a much needed boundary wall adjacent to a sewage pond (which has been a cause of death of few

individuals due to drowning) but also built a kitchen and a toilet. As a result of this, the attendance of children has risen by four times in that school. She has also helped an 18 year old girl suffering from brain tumor in her treatment at AIMS Delhi and helped her family to secure the necessary assistance from the State Government for her, as they were unable to afford it. As part of routine work, she provides education and awareness about ‘Good touch and bad touch’, ‘Safe riding norms and traffic rules’, ‘prevention of child marriage’ and medical facilities for children in government schools.
