CELEBRATIONS WITH A CAUSE
Emphasising upon the importance of quality education deputy chief minister Dinesh Sharma said that a joint family with grand parents can impart meaningful education to the children because knowledge which passes through them is immense. Sharma said this at a function organised to celebrate Bengali New Year by a social organization-Bondhu Mahal
He also said, “Moral values are integral part of our education system. And no school and teacher can pass on sanskar to the children, it’s the family where a child learn values. The homes that have elders like grand parents can pass on values and traditions to the next generation efficiently and educate them in true sense.”.
Deputy CM also mentioned his recent visit to the US where talks among the top educationists of the country centered around how to get rid of the gun culture which has of late increased especially among the school children. The government there commissioned a study which stressed on family culture. “The finding said that children who grow up under their grand parents are more cultured and close to reality,” he said.
On the occasion Excellence Awards were also given away by BJP’s state general secretary Vijay Bahadur Pathak. The winners included Surojit Das (HAL) for administration and Medhansh Saxena (sports). Later, Bondhu Mahal also distributed stationery to the underprivileged children.
