At the age of two and a half years, I was attacked by Polio Virus and after treatment, I became 40% uniquely abled with PH category. I completed my post-graduation in economics in 2007 and cleared the UGC NET December 2006 Exam. I did my PhD in economics entitled “Marketing of Handloom Garments: A Study with reference to Varanasi”. I worked as a guest faculty of economics at Babasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar University, Lucknow, in 2007-08 and Dr. Shakuntala Misra National Rehabilation University, Lucknow, in 2013-14. I also worked as a research analyst at National Building organization, Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs, New Delhi on housing start-up index, Housing for All, Slum-MIS, data analysis using various econometric/statistical packages, policy analysis, preparation of research based concept papers for policy advocacy, identification of key parameters, scrutiny, quality check and validation of data. Currently working as an assistant director (EI) at MSMEDevelopment Institute, Kanpur, Government of India, Ministry of Micro, Small & Medium Enterprises. I organize training programmes on “Entrepreneurship Development Programme” for the educated unemployed and also conduct awareness programmes and industrial motivation campaigns. I solve queries raised by entrepreneurs regarding market, credit availability to MSME sector and its utilization and also help them with the basic steps to setup an enterprise. I prepare state industrial profiles/project profiles, feasibility reports, notes on problems being faced by MSME units, measures for revival of sick MSME units and tax concessions etc. My aim is to reduce unemployment by promoting entrepreneurship.
