RANA TRAINS WITH ELEPHANTS FOR HIS NEXT
Daggubati is spending time with elephants to study the species and get familiar with jungles for his next
Rana Daggubati is happy to be experimenting with a new subject in his next trilingual film Haathi Mere Saathi. As the title suggests, the film requires him to shoot with elephants. Hence, the actor recently underwent a special workshop to understand the nature of the species better. Rana has had basic training on how to deal with elephants for period films such as Rudramadevi (2015) and Baahubali series earlier, however, this time he attended an extensive workshop for 50 days in Thailand for his upcoming project.
“Rana had to get comfortable in that ecosystem and with the elephants, hence he attended the workshop,” informs a source. When contacted, Rana said, “It was important to know what to eat in a jungle and how to move around. I also learnt how to interact with animals through specific voice training. A bunch of animal trainers who live and work with the animals have taught me certain phonetic sounds, so I can communicate with the elephants. It’s magical. Since the story is also inspired by some true events, we are trying to stay as authentic as we can.”
Apparently, the film is a tribute to the old classic starring late Rajesh Khanna, but apart from the basic theme, the story is completely different. “I’ve always been a fan of animal based stories that were made earlier, so I hope ours is only a new take to it,” says the actor.
