Karan Tacker’s post on Instagram upsets fans
Karan Tacker is currently in Doha, Qatar, and has been posting several photos from his visit to the city on Instagram. While all the pictures give a sneak peek into his life while he is vacationing there, one such post seems to have created a controversy.
The actor posted a photo of himself posing on a large key with Urdu writings on it. Many of his fans thought the etchings on the key were duas and/or verses of the Quran, whereas, they were just names of cities written in Urdu.
This led to numerous posts with comments saying Karan was being disrespectful towards the language and religion and some even suggested that Karan’s Muslim fans should unfollow him immediately.
However, Karan did not lose his cool and immediately checked with the artist who made the key and learnt that there were no verses of the Quran etched on the key. He then informed his fans on the social media platform about the same.
Talking about the issue, he says, “Urdu is a beautiful language, no doubt. Having said that, Arabic verses are written on carpets on which people walk on, seats, chairs, benches, where people sit on, on walls against which people rest. This key is placed on the ground as a symbol for locals and tourists like me to come observe the beauty and click a picture against it. And I have immense respect for scriptures, language, and religion.”
