Content, promotion are vital: Arjun on his songs’ success
Singer Arjun Kanungo is on cloud nine. And why not? His latest single, La La La, and its reprised version have been lapped up by listeners. While the original got over 50 million hits on YouTube, the latest version, released two weeks ago, is inching towards the two million mark. Arjun shares that he feels indebted to everyone for showering so much love on him.
“I’ve been lucky. Till date, I have done about five-six singles and the response to them has been amazing,” says the singer, before decoding the secret behind his songs working well every time.
“I think content is very important in terms of lyrics and music, then comes the video. Last, but not the least, is how you promote or market it. If a song is being promoted on all platforms, be it TV, radio or the web, the visibility helps,” he says.
Arjun began his career as a singer in Bollywood with Khoon Choos Le in Go Goa Gone (2013). And for his first single, Baaki Baatein Peene Baad, which released in 2015, he collaborated with rapper Badshah.
Talking about his journey so far, the singer adds that he is continuously trying to evolve as an artist, and that the love from his fans motivates him at every step.
“I’ve just started my career, and in these two-and-a-half years, I feel I’ve only grown as an artist. Every song that I’ve sung so far has contributed to my popularity. Every song has boosted my career,” says Arjun, adding that he is currently working on his next two singles, which will be released in quick succession.
