Additional chief secretary Dr Anita Bhatnagar Jain’s compilation of short stories ‘Dilli Ki Bulbul’ was released by Governor Ram Naik during a function held at Gandhi Sabhagaar, Raj Bhawan on Tuesday. The book is focused on the concept of environment and morality. It was launched in the presence of chief secretary Rajive Kumar.

The title story deals with ‘housing’ problems of birds residing in urban cities and the book is based on the premise that in this universe the Earth is home to birds, animals, plants and human beings. “In this house we have to live in such a way that our descendants including birds, animals and plants can also live peacefully,” said Jain.

The event was compeered by Anushree Jain. Present on the occasion were Ashu Jain, DG investigation Income Tax UP and Uttarakhand, Avni Jain, Anil Jain, Anirudh Jain, Shubhra Doorwar, Priti Kumar, Praveer Kumar, Sadhna Kumar, Gurdeep Singh, Alok Sinha, Anuj and Vipul Varshney, Anant Jauhari and Kunjshri, Kiron and Neelam Chopra.

Earth is not only for us but also for the generations to come and we are all ‘global trustees’, said Jain. “Everyone’s contribution is important and it either has a good effect or a bad one, she added.” Through interesting stories, basic moral principles have been told about the rights of birds, animals and plants. The trees planted in public places benefit us as well and therefore it is our duty to take care and protect them, with values like befriending neighbors, being united, helping others, managing time, treating everyone equally, following rules and working hard. Jain has been writing on various issues and has edited magazines. She has dedicated her book ‘Dilli Ki Bulbul’ to her mother Veena Bhatnagar.
