Singer-composer Harshit Saxena and lyricist Sameer Anjaan have come together to pay tributes to 8-year-old rape and murder victim from Kathua.

The incident had created an outrage in the entire country prompting the singer-lyricist duo to come together with the song dedicated to the victim.

The song has already received over 2 lakh views in two weeks.

“The song is all about awareness, raising a voice and our sentiments towards the Kathua victim,” says Harshit, a Lucknow native.

“The song goes beyond the Hindu-Muslim rhetoric. So many such incidents are happening in the country and the song carries the pain of all the females who have been subjected to such heinous crimes,” says Harshit, who has composed and sung the number. Lyricist Sameer, who hold the Guinness World Record for writing maximum number of songs, says, “Mera jo hathiyaar hai woh meri kalam hai (My pen is my weapon) and so I conceptualised this song and wrote this to reach out to the masses.”

Harshit says, “When this incident happened everyone was angry and were expressing themselve. I discussed it with Sameer sir to do something together and what he wrote is brilliant. Sir has connected to it as he himself has two daughters and is a very emotional person. His lyrics have both aggression and emotions.”

He admits that they got bit late in finalising the song but still response they are getting is good. “It took time as we wanted to do something which stays for long and sustains. We have also released a video.”

Few years back Harshit has come out with a song on IndiaPakistan cricket ties which talked about loving the sport rather than hating the opponent.

The song has been shot in a local studio in Mumbai. “I have released the song through my YouTube channel. We plan to release one video song every month. We will be doing a lot of independent music in it, says Harshit who is doing two films as solo composer and has three songs in an upcoming film, Hotel Milan.
