SHASHAA’S NEW SINGLE OUT SOON
Singersongwriter Shashaa Tirupati has written and composed a new set of songs in English, Hindi and Punjabi
If you are a fan of Shashaa Tirupati’s renditions, here is a piece of news that might excite you. The singersongwriter is working on a new set of singles, and plans to release the first song soon. Shashaa’s first Hindi single Mera Woh Pyar that released in 2009 was a success. Even her latest single, Tu Bata, which released last month was received well.
When we got in touch with the singer, she revealed that about eight songs are almost ready. “I have been thinking of creating my new set of songs for quite some time now, so it feels good when it is finally happening. All the songs are written and composed by me,” she says, adding that she is currently in talks with music labels and distributors.
Shashaa is, however, not ready to divulge much about the songs’ theme, except for the fact that they reflect her emotional journey. “The songs are in Hindi, English and Punjabi. I am totally concentrating on the first song that I’m planning to release soon. I have also paid special attention towards the arrangement, I want each of them to touch a chord with music lovers,” she adds. Shashaa has lent her voice to hits such as Humma Humma (OK Jaanu; 2017), Hawa Hawai 2.0 (Tumhari Sulu; 2017), Chal Kahin Door and O Sona Tere Liye (Mom ; 2017) and Kanha (Shubh Mangal Saavdhan; 2017).
Shashaa won the National Award in the the Best Female Playback Singer category for her song Vaan Varuvaan in Mani Ratnam’s Kaatru Veliyidai (2017). Ask her how the win has changed her life, and the singer says it has given a boost both in terms of confidence and fame. At the same time, she feels that such an honour adds to one’s responsibility. “I want to sing for the masses. I also like to sing fun songs like Saree Ke Fall Sa (R... Rajkumar; 2017). And I just hope winning the award helps me reach out to more people,” she says.
