Jada talks about her ‘terrifying’ experience with sudden hair loss

Actor Jada Pinkett Smith opened up about her struggle with hair loss in the recent episode of her Facebook talk show, Red Table Talk. “It was terrifying when it first started. I was in the shower one day and had just handfuls of hair in my hands and I was just like, ‘Oh, my God, am I going bald?” she said on the talk show.

“It was one of those times in my life where I was literally shaking in fear. That’s why I cut my hair, and why I continue to cut it,” she added.

Jada said that doctors and specialists had not been able to diagnose what was causing the hair loss, but she added that her friends thought the reason was stress.

Despite the scare, she managed to give it a spiritual spin.

“The higher power takes so much from people... and, by golly, if the higher power wants to take your hair... that’s it?” she said on a positive note.

The actor, who is married to Hollywood star Will Smith, also used the occasion to dwell upon on how she liked the way she looked with a hair wrap. “When my hair is wrapped, I feel like a queen. I love having a wrapped head,” she added.

According to CNN, Red Table Talk, which is in its third episode, features Jada, her mother Adrienne Canfield Norris, and daughter Willow Smith, diving deep into a personal topic each week.
