I’m a big fan of Shahid, Hrithik and Aamir: Isabelle
By now, it’s a known fact that Isabelle Kaif is set to make her big Bollywood debut with a dance-based film. Ask the youngster how she would want to shape up her career and she says: “I don’t know if I completely fall in the glam doll space. But personally, I would like to mix it [film choices] up. Also, I come from a theatre background so I find dramatic roles really fun. At the same time, I always have a tug of war with myself as I find both (commercial capers and dramatic ones) appealing and then I’m like, ‘why do I have to choose?’” she says.
Now that Isabelle has been stationed in Mumbai with her star sister, Katrina Kaif for some time now, has she become used to the city? “Absolutely! I lived here before I went off to college [in the US]. Of course, it has changed a lot since then. I don’t think the [Bandra Worli] Sea Link had even been finished when I last lived in this city on a sort of permanent basis. But I love Mumbai, its energy, and the sheer feel of it. Somehow, you always feel that you are connected to what’s going on. In fact, I don’t even mind the heat (smiles),” she says.
It goes without saying that the young actor looks up to Katrina but she has a long list of other actors whom she admires. “I am a huge fan of Aamir [Khan] and love his work. He is phenomenal and very methodical. I feel he is very serious about his roles, even the comedic ones (laughs). It seems as if he steps into those parts with the same intensity as he does for his dramatic parts. I also love Hrithik [Roshan] and am a huge fan of his. It’s hard to choose because everyone is doing amazing work. I also love Shahid Kapoor and especially the last couple of films that he has done. I feel he is getting better and better,” she says.
