Bhushan Kumar, the head honcho of T-Series, is elated. His company’s YouTube Channel has surpassed the 50 million subscriber base and is now the most viewed channel worldwide and the second most subscribed channel. Moreover, T-Series artist Guru Randhawa’s Punjabi track Lahore will soon become the first video in India to hit 500 million views.

Kumar says, “The 50 million milestone subscriber base is a result of the relentless efforts by our digital and content team, which is continuously working towards providing better content. We will continue to serve our subscribers with engaging content.” The channel was set up in 2011. He adds, “My father left me with a great legacy, that of a passion for music and his ear for recognising good melodies. Our YouTube success is largely because of the catalogue that he built for T-Series.”

Meanwhile, Guru had launched Lahore, in December 2017. It crossed the non-film song mark in a day, fetching 1+ million views in 4 hours and over 4 million in less than 24 hours. His song Made In India, which released last month, became the fastest song to cross 100 million views. Guru’s High Rated Gabru, picturised on Varun Dhawan and Shraddha Kapoor, from the film Nawabzaade became the highest viewed track in 24 hours. With hits like Tu Meri Rani, Suit Suit, High Rated Gabru and Patola, Guru has broken several records. Just like the T-Series’ YouTube Channel, the two have a relationship that feeds on each other’s reach and both brand Guru and brand T-Series have grown exponentially in the last year-and- half.

“Surpassing the 50 million mark is a colossal jump for T-Series as a content provider,” adds Kumar.
