BTOWN TO SPARKLE AT INDIA COUTURE WEEK
Bollywood stars are set to dazzle the ramp as they will be showstoppers for big names of the fashion fraternity, for this year’s couture week
The countdown to India Couture Week, presented by Hindustan Times and Sunil Sethi Design lliance, has begun. Amid the aborate lehengas and travagant gowns sashaying n the runway, the FDCI uture Week will also have ood stars as stoppers for e of the top names in the fashion fraternity.
A few Bollywood names confirmed as of now are of actors Shilpa Shetty Kundra, Kangana Ranaut, Aditi Rao Hydari, and Yami Gautam.
Designer Anju Modi, who is doing a collection inspired by the Victorian era, will have Kangana Ranaut walk as her showstopper. “Kangana has a Victorian feel and attitude that is needed for my show. She became the choice for my show after I saw her looks in Rangoon. It was spellbinding, and Kangana is surely going to storm the ramp,” she says.
Designer Reynu Taandon, who confirmed that Yami would walk the ramp for her, says, “My new collection is for the woman who follows tradition, yet has a contemporary appeal. Vivaciousness and versatility is common to both of us, and that brings us together.”
Praising the Kaabil (2017) r, Taandon adds, “I’ve ays liked Yami, and ’ve met a couple of es before. I find her very appealing.” esigner Tarun Tahiliani is excited to have Padmaavat actor Aditi Rao Hydari walk for him. “I’m looking forward to seeing her in our couture and walk at the show with allure and panache. She radiates an effortless poise and has her individualistic style. This makes her the quintessential TT muse — the woman who knows herself, the woman who looks like herself, and the woman who’s not weighed down by the burden of projection,” says Tahiliani.
Among the front row attendees, Pyar Ka Punchnama series actor Ishita Raj Sharma will be present at Taandon’s show along with the who’s who of the Capital’s social circuit.
India Couture Week, presented by Hindustan Times and Sunil Sethi Design Alliance, will be on from July 25 to July 29, in Delhi.
