Actor Manish Goplani, more popular as Bihaan from the serial Thapki Pyaar Ki, was absolutely delighted to be in Lucknow, one of the cities in his bucket list since his school days.

“I belong to Jaipur but always wished to travel around the country. Lucknow is one place where I wanted to come for long and finally I am here. It is a quick visit but at least I’m here. Hope this promotional visit brings him Luck for me now,” says the actor who has taken a theatre route to television.

“Theatre sharpens you as an actor. It is the real test as there are no retakes and the audience response is immediate. So either you pass or you fail. Whereas in TV or films, you always get a chance to retake and rework on your act,” he says while hoping to be part of more plays in future.

After doing a cameo for Belan Wali Bahu, Manish is all set to play the lead in ‘Yeh Teri Galiyaan’ a story of two childhood friends being raised in Kolkata’s red-light area of Sonagachi.

“The show slated to be on air next week on Zee TV is all about childhood buddies who are forcefully separated and so now you have to wait and watch whether the lead pair as adults will be able to unite as lovers or will the societal pressure of backgrounds prove to be a hurdle in their path? We have tried to deliver a strong message about equal opportunities for commercial sex workers, or anyone for that matter, to rise beyond their reality,” says the young actor.

Talking about his character, Manish said, “This is my second show with the channel and I’m extremely excited to be part of the show with a strong storyline. Unlike what I have played earlier this character is of a lovable and caring boy who can go to any extent to keep his loved ones happy but at the same time he takes societal pressure very seriously.”

“For an actor, it is imperative to keep experimenting and reinventing himself else he will be surely typecast,” says Manish.

Like many of his counterparts, Manish too wishes to be seen on 70 mm.

“Yes I wish to do films in near future and I’m waiting for good scripts to come my way. Of late I have also tried my hand at a web series ‘The Man from Bekasi’ where I play a character from India. The storyline is extremely impressive and intriguing. I enjoyed the medium way to much as it gives you a free hand as a performer and you get to cater a very young audience who believe in freedom of expression. And as an artiste we all want to be part of such projects,” he says before signing off.
