Notwithsta­nding his tryst with Lucknow traffic, actor Jackie Shroff is all praise for the city of Nawabs, especially its people and food.

Jackief left the city on Tuesday after wrapping up the second schedule of shooting of his film Prasthanam but not without some fond memories.

“Lucknow is beautiful. Since the past six days I am relishing different varieties of mangoes, enjoying the rain, enjoying with friends and Sanju (Sanjay Dutt) baba. I am getting so much love here that ‘adaat kharaab ho gai hai’. After reaching Mumbai, I will miss the fun and food I was having here,” he tells HT City.

“I had been here many times. Last time, got chance to see Bhool Bhulaiyya. In my second schedule, we even got to shoot at the beautiful heritage zone here,” he says.

The actor shot in the Old City in front of Clock Tower on Sunday evening. On the incident when he had to man the traffic to make way for vehicles he puts it plainly without the airs of the star that he is: “Yes, it was a bad jam and actors are also normal person who can pitch in when required.”

Despite that the actor could not stop gushing about Lucknowite­s.

“I loved the way people were showering their love on me. They love me and my son (Tiger Shroff). Kids and youngsters get excited ‘ki dekho Tiger ka baap aa raha hai…bhidu!’ So, I love that ‘baccho ka pyaar’,” he says.

On working together with Sanjay Dutt he says: “We have worked in films like Mission Kashmir, Jung, Kartoos, Eklavya: The Royal Guard and Pitaah. It’s great working with Sanju once again which is also his production.” He also lavished praise on Ali Fazal and Satyajeet, both Lucknowite­s.

The actor has good numbers of films lined up.

“I have five films in national languages and two in regional languages coming up. Till now, I have worked in over a dozen languages. I am happy with the kind of work I am doing,” he says.

His up upcoming projects are science-fiction multilingu­al Saaho starring Prabhas and Shraddha Kapoor; spy thriller Romeo Akbar Walter (RAW) starring John Abraham; JP Dutta’s war film Paltan (on Indo-China war) with Arjun Rampal and Sonu Sood and one Salman’s home production.

Earlier this year, his Bengali film Jole Jongole with Mithun Chakrobort­y was released and has two regional films, Paandi Muni in Tamil and Kantaar in Konkani, lined up for release. Besides, he has shot for BBC web series Criminal Justice helmed by Tigmanshu Dhulia.

On working with son Tiger, he says “Not at the moment. He is busy in his own films and I am also busy in my projects. When we get a chance to work together then surely we will.”
