Lucknow-based radio jockey and theatre actor Vikram Sharma is making his debut as lead actor in upcoming film ‘Hill View Villa’.

The film has been directed by Prafull Srivastava who comes from Kanpur. The actor and the director, along with lead actress Kiran Acharya and other team members, were in Lucknow ahead of the theatrical release of their film.

“Before joining radio, I was doing theatre in Varanasi. After I started as an RJ, acting took a backseat but the bug remained there. I met Prafull in Lucknow while he was shooting a short film in which I played a cameo. He promised to work with me again and later signed me in the lead role,” says Vikram, who is still taking acting as a hobby.

“Radio jockeying is my profession and acting my passion. I took two weeks leave for the film for my creative satisfaction. Now, I have experienced acting in films, I will keep trying in future too. I am looking forward to public response on my performance,” he says.

Prafull has earlier made short films, documentary and TV serials. “This is my first full-length feature film. We shot the entire film in Dehradun in straight 13 days,” says the director who has also written the film.

‘Hill View Villa’ been produced by Singham Films and Banke Bihari Production, all hailing from Kanpur. “The music is by debutant Sorab A Khan. He is also from Kanpur and has earlier made some songs and music albums,” says Prafull.

Kiran comes from Gujarat and has done many regional films in the state. “I play a deputy commissioner in the film. There is a lesbian angle in the film but once the story will unfold audience will understand that it goes with the flow of the script and there is a reason to that. It is just a small part of the film.”

She is, however, skeptical about the outcome. “I have a fan-following back in Gujarati audience. Now, I need to see how people respond to my debut in a Hindi film and in a bold avtar.

As an actor I found it very challenging but playing a lesbian girl comes with a lot of stigma though it is also a fact and it is prevalent in the society,” says Kiran.
