THINGS TO REMEMBER WHEN CHATTING ONLINE WITH A POTENTIAL PARTNER

-

Thanks to dating apps, finding a partner is somewhat easier than what it was before. Although some of these apps have the reputation of being primarily for hook ups, you still keep hearing of couples who found their soulmate through a dating app, and finally got married. But not all apps are a boon. Contrary to real conversations over a meeting, messaging apps like Whatsapp have in a way made the chit-chat mundane. Consider these banal messages which each of us get on a regular basis: What’s up? How’s it going? What you up to?If it’s a potential love interest you’re chatting with, these lines are going to get you nowhere, or maybe out of their lives! These are certain things you need to keep in mind when talking to someone you feel you might have a potential future with:

Be more involved

Skip the small talk. You need to be more engaged when chatting with them. It’s better to talk about actual stuff rather than just try to pass time by chatting just for the sake of it.

The questions you ask

You need to ask real questions rather than the oft used ‘What’s up?’ or ‘How’s it going?’ Ask questions so you get to know the person better, that way even they would feel that you are interested in them. Whether they like to travel, the food they prefer and what do they like doing in their free time are good questions to ask.

Where are you headed?

Conversations can get pointless when you don’t know what direction you are headed towards. You need to know what it is that you want from this person and then accordingly your relationship or whatever it is you share with this person shall move in the right direction.

Contain the excitement

Don’t concentrate only on one person. Chatting with various people helps you get to know more about them and also helps you decide which one you would want to spend more time with.
