Changing personal & financial life
Financial planner, poet and author Shilpi Johri’s book ‘Money, Life and You’ was launched at Universal Booksellers, Gomti Nagar. The book mainly portrays how the country is changing and the people with it and how they learn to change their personal and financial life. A live discussion with, mentor and coach for start-ups, Aparna Mishra was also held at the event.
On being asked about how she got inspired to write the author replied, “It was a great journey without any doubt. The nation has had an enormous change over the years, how our mothers used to stay at home and would not get out of the houses but how drastically has it changed. How building a house was such a big deal back then but now anyone can go and buy the house he wants and take the loans for it. Changes happened, however, we never took note of it”.
The author is a financial planner and also counsels families and people on matters of personal finance. She has already been writing various blogs and articles and actually got the interest when she had finished her college. The book covers eight economic trends of our country — education and skill gap, job insecurity, urbanization, digitization of our lives, dilemma of being an NRI, hesitation of women participation in personal finance, retirement and property investing.
Lalita Pradeep, MS Gulati, Chander Pakash, Manav Prakash, Gaurav Prakash, Vipul, Shreya and Nidhi were also present at the launch.
“It was a very interesting topic. The author was also very good and even the audience gave a great response and asked their queries, which was a good thing,” said one of the guest.
