Navraj, kids weave magic
With his popular song ‘Mundiya tu bach ke rahi’, Punjabi singer Navraj Hans made a grand entry on his first ever live singing concert in Lucknow on Saturday.
“Performing for the amazing people of Lucknow was an extreme delight. The support and excitement with which I was greeted was overwhelming,” he tells HT City.
Son of popular singer Hansraj Hans and son-inlaw of Daler Mehndi, Navraj has recreated one of his father’s songs ‘Dil Tote Tote Ho Gaya’ and he wants to recreate more of his tunes. “I have shared the stage with my father and it has always been a good experience,” he says.
The singer has given playback for song ‘Rangdaari’ in DaasDev with Arko and ‘Chhotey Chhotey Peg’ in ‘Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety’.
Navraj is north zone mentor for upcoming reality show ‘Love Me India Kids’.
“I am quite amazed at the talent of the zone and I feel really proud to lead them in the show. I could sense the passion and love for music in their voice and was delighted to see their zeal to perform. I think they are unique in their own ways and have truly won the audience’s heart with their first mind-blowing performance.”
Twenty children, who have been selected from the zone, also gave a group performance and set the stage on fire with their melodious voice.
The song ‘Layi bhi na gayi…’ was performed by Hasrat Ali, Jasnpreet, Harshdeep and Kabir. After that, the song ‘Sajda’ sung by Sana, Tanishka, Komal and Gulshan touched the heart of the audience. The next song ‘Jag ghumeya…’ by Tasneem, Harnoor, Atharv and Pawan made the environment romantic. Finally, Anurag, Shaurya Amit, Varli and Banti presented ‘Sufiyana’.
The musical evening ended with one of his hit song ‘Saddi Rail Gaddi Aayi’ along with the contestants who were filled with enthusiasm.
“As we commence our journey, my only request is to keep the love and support coming in throughout the season. We will surely give our heart and soul to this show,” he said.
