Punjab’s gift to Bollywood, Guru Randhawa has surpassed 3 billion views across all official channels on YouTube. The singersongwriter is currently the most viewed Indian artist in history.

Guru says, “I’m honoured and blessed for all the love from listeners worldwide. I am very thankful to everybody for their love and support. I feel this is for the first time in Indian [music’s] history that an independent artist has got 3 billion views.” The 26-year-old singer, who has to his credit trending songs such as Suit Suit, High Rated Gabru, Lahore, Ban Ja Rani, and Made In India, says he is thankful to God for this day. “Every artist wishes to achieve this kind of success. This wouldn’t have been possible without everyone’s support,” he says. Randhawa has also become the mostfollowed male singer in India on Instagram, with 5 million followers as of now.

T-Series chairman and managing director Bhushan Kumar, who has been instrumental in successfully reviving the trend of singles, played a pivotal part in the singer’s success. Bhushan signed up Guru for T-Series in 2015 for the hit track Patola. “It’s indeed a proud moment when a talented singer scales such heights. Guru’s success reinstates my faith in independent music and my belief in supporting new, aspiring talent,” he says.
