Shilpa Shetty Kundra has been in the film business for more than two decades now. One of the films that her fans fondly remember her for is Life In a… Metro (2007) that narrated the lives of nine people living in Mumbai.

The film, directed by Anurag Basu, was critically acclaimed. And now, Anurag is planning a sequel, with a new cast. Shipla is unhappy that she is not a part of it. “I know he’s (Anurag Basu) making a sequel, and I am very upset that I am not a part of it! I am going to discuss this with him on the reality TV show that we judge together,” jokes Shilpa.

Did Shilpa want to reprise her role in the second part? “It’s a different script, and I, of course, have spoken to him. It’s a different setting from the first part. Those stories ended there. It was a refreshing story that everyone liked. It released 10 years ago, and was way ahead of its time. Anurag is a brilliant director, and a great storyteller. I wish him all the best,” says Shilpa, who is currently juggling a virtual dating show, a kids reality show on TV and a radio show.

And why haven’t we seen her in a full-fledged role in films since the last 11 years, after Apne (2007)? The actor reasons: “Imagine to be still relevant without doing movies! I’ve done well. I have always liked to do things that haven’t been done before. I have been a part of films for the last 20-25 years. But today, I feel I am ready for it. I got into a marriage that I felt was a priority for me at that point. Then my son (Viaan) happened. If I have to take out time for a movie, web series or reality series, then it has to suit my time,” she says.
