Never fallen in love with someone so instantly: Neil
Actor Neil Nitin Mukesh, now a proud papa, says daughter Nurvi’s name was suggested by his father
Actor Neil Nitin Mukesh and wife Rukmini Sahay shared the news of the arrival of their child on September 20, and the proud father can’t stop gushing about his daughter, who they have named Nurvi Neil Mukesh.
“The moment I saw her, I was in love. I have never seen someone and fallen in love so instantly. I was so emotional, and I still am, about Nurvi. In fact, both Rukmini and Nurvi are in good health and that’s a bigger joy,” says Neil. Rukmini and Nurvi are currently at her mother’s house for 40 days as part of a family ritual. Earlier, the couple briefly brought their daughter home for Ganesh Visarjan. The name, as unique as it sounds, was neither Neil nor Rukmini’s idea.
“Papa (Nitin Mukesh) suggested the name. It means the blessing of Lord Ganesha. The entire family would sit down and argue over names,” he says, adding, “The day Rukmini was rushed to the hospital, Dad said he did the aarti everyday and only this name was coming to his mind.”
Now with his wife and daughter, Neil has to strike a balance between his work and family schedule. Currently the actor is in Alibaug for his younger brother Naman’s acting debut. However, the new dad is ready to take on any challenge when it comes to spending time with his daughter. “We have a 35-day schedule in Alibaug and Rukmini told me Nurvi stays awake at night. Thankfully, I have a night schedule,” says the actor gleefully. “I can face time with both of them and since Alibaug is not too far, whenever I get a few hours off, I can go and meet her,” he adds. Many actors recently spoke of how paparazzi and camera flashes harm children. On this Neil says, “My parents brought up all three of us very normally. People are also cooperative because they are so used to us walking around in shorts. Nurvi will definitely get a little bit of attention but I guess that’s alright.”
