Actor Ayushmann Khurrana’s wife Tahira Kashyap recently underwent mastectomy. Tahira had also shared a post on her social media account regarding the same in order to spread awareness about breast cancer. Talking about his wife’s brave step, the actor says, “Tahira has always been a person of great influence in my life. But after her surgery, she has become the biggest inspiration. It’s a matter of great courage that she’s exhibited her struggle in front of the whole world. I have started seeing life in a different way now.”

On the professional front, Tahira will be directing her first film, the shoot of which is set to begin early next year. On her transition from writing to filmmaking, Ayushmann says, “She used to direct plays for our college groups, she has written books as well. So, this was a very organic transition for her. And, I’m a good sounding board. I always give her suggestions. Same is the case with me. If I have a good script, she also reads those scripts. We exchange ideas and that is the best way. She writes her scripts quickly. The first draft could be finished in four to five days. Probably she will work on it again. But she is a fast writer. I hope someday she writes a script for me as well.”

As for Ayushmann, he has two projects due for release. Badhaai Ho belongs to the slice-of-life genre, which the actor has mainly dabbled into so far. But will he ever move away from the genre and probably take up an action film? Ayushmann says he’d love to experiment.

“This life is all about human revolution. If you don’t face challenges, you will be stagnated. You need to evolve. But at the same time, you need to break the mould after establishing yourself in a certain genre. I can do action as well and would love to undergo body transformation, too. But I guess that’s with age also,” he says, adding, “Saif Ali Khan was the quintessential guy back in the day, and his action hero avatar came after 40. So, let me juice it up till I am in my early 30s. I have a long way to go. Though I want to be an action hero, but maybe not just yet. It has to be the right project.”
