IT’S NOT EASY FOR SHRIYA: SUPRIYA

- Shreya Mukherjee

Nepotism is one topic of debate in the showbiz that leaves industry insiders at the wrath of many. However, actor Supriya Pilgaonkar wants to throw light at the other side of the coin. The senior actor shares that her daughter, Shriya Pilgaonkar never had it easy.

Supriya adds that neither her husband, actor-director Sachin Pilgaonkar, nor she has helped Shriya in any way. And, Shriya isn’t ready to take their help either.

“It’s not at all easy for her. I have seen her struggling. In fact, she is still struggling. I think everybody has their own journey. And she wants to do a certain kind of work. Things are not given to her on a platter. And we have never referred her to anyone, nor does she want it that way,” says Supriya.

The veteran actor is quick to add that the only thing that they did for her was making a Marathi film, Ekulti Ek (2008). “Yes, that’s the only thing we could do for her. It’s her debut Marathi film. She did a fabulous job. It’s not easy to impress me and she knows that I am her worst critic. I wish she gets what she deserves,” adds the actor, best known for her show Tu Tu Main Main.

Is there any chance that this family of actors might be seen sharing screen space? “It would be great, but it has to be something interesting. After all, none of us will do something that is not good enough,” she smiles.
