Rahu sets no limits for satisfaction. He is the mighty, naughty child of Maya. The lunar nodes, i.e. Rahu and Ketu are regarded as a malefic influence on a horoscope, and Rahu is thought of as the bigger malefic than Ketu. Rahu represents foreign influence on a native, gives duality of material prosperity and adversity. It is a seizer of things, chief of the demons, ever-angry and bitter enemies of the luminaries (the Sun and the Moon), besides being immoral and deceitful.

Rahu, if acting through its lower principles and energy, can wreak havoc on a native. Those who gamble excessively either in lottery, cards, racing or stock exchange, those who blindly follow fads (acting on peer pressure without exercising discretion), those who blindly follow politicians in hope for personal gains some day, and those who use the almighty, turning in to a seer for the sake of a public life, usually have a negatively placed Rahu. But the vital point to understand is that Rahu has duality in nature and it behaves as we regulate it. This lower energy of Rahu can be karmically corrected so that the Rahu starts acting through higher energy and the problems stated above are resolved.

Making gains through foreign lands, as lawmakers or law enforcers, making it big in the liquor business, thinking out of the box and coming out with hit ideas, making good money in the share market, owning casinos, someone guiding the world in the true sense (Swami Vivekananda), and someone always wanting for more (Steve Jobs) is when Rahu plays through its higher principles.
