Occult, paranormal and abnormal. Those three words best describe the TV trend today in the country. What’s more, there are more such shows in the pipeline. Talking about the trend, Sana Sayyad, who is all set to be part of one such show and was in the city promoting it, said, “Yes, suddenly such shows have taken over our TV sets but we should not forget it is the matter of demand and supply. So you can say everything is fair in the entertainment industry.”

Sayyad was last seen in the show ‘Papa by chance’, “That the present work being done be different from all the other work done that is what I try to do. Also, playing a certain character, for any show, one has to give his or her hundred percent.

Then I have always and will always be honest with what I get to be in a show, or maybe films, in the future. I made a foray into TV with a reality show and slowly acting happened so I’m in no hurry to do ‘Hatke shows or roles’. I just want to go with the flow.”

The bubbly actor has a Lucknow connection. “Yes! Lucknow was my maternal grandparents’ house and so we came here during all vacations and what a time I had. Also, the food here is my favourite in the country and I can continue hogging whatever I can get my hands on. Chaat and kebabs are my first love.” Talking about her new show and character, she adds, “The show is called Divya Drishti for StarPlus. It is a beautiful narrative of two sisters who are blessed with exceptional power, of being able to see and change the future. Produced by Fireworks Productions and Mukta Dhond, the show traces the two sisters, who have been separated but hope to reunite with each other soon, and this motivation keeps them going. The show will go on air soon and all of us are keeping our fingers crossed.”
