Lucknow designer duo shines at India Fashion Week
Lucknow designers Ashie Sudhansh and Parul Agarwal of the label Parul & Ashie, were among a handful of creators handpicked to showcase their designs at the Fashion and Design Council of Indiaorganised Lotus Make-Up India Fashion Week Spring/ Summer 2020.
Held at the Dhyan Chand National Stadium from October 9 to 12, in New Delhi, with the theme ‘#MyFashionMyTribe’, the show provided a platform to designers to retail their creations directly to customers.
Lakhs of entries were received by the jury and naturally, a stringent screening process followed. “We consider ourselves fortunate to have got selected to showcase our collection along with other talented designers at Lotus Make-up India Fashion Week. The overwhelming response we received from a global audience has done a world of good to our confidence,” said Sudhansh, the founder of the label.
Talking about the collection they featured at the fashion week, he said, “My wife and I are voracious readers. Our collection at the event was classic vintage, and was inspired by the old, English romance novels we’ve grown up reading. We used delicate Victorian materials like ruffles, corsage and lace, and in pastel colours, to enhance the look”.
Describing the experience, he said that attending the fashion week was a fascinating experience. They got to meet tremendously talented people of the industry and the showstopper for their collection was Femina Miss India Grand 2015 Vartika Singh, who perfectly represented the “aura of a Lakhnavi soul” through their collection.
On the runway, under the arclights, Naina Sudhansh, all of six years, lapped up audience adulation as she walked hand-in-hand with her designer parents.
