Bachchan Pandey has a kicka** character for me and is very different from what I have done till now. It’s a different zone of commercial cinema and will be my third outing with Sajid [Nadiadwala] sir.

She surely had quite a successful 2019, and now, Kriti Sanon hopes for an even more fruitful encore this year. “I really pray and hope that 2020 tops 2019. But at the end of the day, it always depends on the opportunities you have in front of you. You have to find that perfect script and that doesn’t happen very often. For example, I have been wanting to do a good thriller. But there are only a few directors who can make good thrillers,” she says.

This year, as of now, will see Kriti in Mimi and Bachchan Pandey co-starring Akshay Kumar after their hit collaboration in Housefull 4. “Bachchan Pandey has a kicka** character for me and is very different from what I have done till now. It’s a different zone of commercial cinema and will be my third outing with Sajid sir (Nadiadwala; producer). My last two films with him have done really good so I hope that we score a hat trick now,” she says.

As for Mimi that revolves around the topic of surrogacy, the Luka Chuppi (2019) actor hopes that “my gut feeling resonates well with the audience”. “Also, you learn and grow, as an actor, with every film and that’s something I want to do with every work of mine. The way I look at it is that maybe, all the work that I have done was required for me to reach a point where I could take up Mimi and not feel jittery about it. Today, when I shoot for Mimi, I’m a lot more confident because I feel like maybe I have figured it

KRITI SANON, out,” she says.

At this point, after a five year-long journey as a Hindi film actor, Kriti is keen to showcase her artistic side. “As an artiste, I hope to explore a lot more of myself through these characters. I have really enjoyed being on sets, especially the last year. I feel there is a lot of potential that I have not tapped into yet. Plus, I am also craving to work with a lot of filmmakers because I really feel they get a lot out of you,” she concludes.
