HT Group chairperso­n unravels economic consequenc­es of Covid-19

Hindustan Times Group chairperso­n and editorial director Shobhana Bhartia on Saturday expressed her views on economic consequenc­es of Covid-19 on the Indian economy and the Centre’s approach towards fighting the pandemic.

The chairperso­n expressed these views at a webinar organised by FICCI Ladies Organisati­on (FLO), Kanpur chapter. Dr Aarti Gupta, head of the Kanpur chapter of FLO, moderated the session. Jahnabi Phookan, national president, FLO, was also present on the occasion.

During the session, Shobhana Bhartia gave valuable tips and guiding points to youths on how to rework their dreams with ground realities in the post Covid-19 and work from home era. There was also a question and answer session in which members of FLO asked her about the media’s role in dealing with the coronaviru­s pandemic.

Among other queries, she also answered questions related with women’s role in the post Covid-19 era.

The session was also about Shobhana Bhartia’s dynamic journey of three decades as head of The Hindustan Times Group and challenges faced by her in fighting stereotype­s and chauvinism at the workplace.

Shobhana Bhartia figures among the top 100 most powerful women in the world. She is Pro Chancellor of Birla Institute of Technology and Science, Pilani and also chairperso­n of Endeavour India. She was awarded the Padma Shri in 2005 and was listed as the 93rd most powerful woman by The Forbes Magazine in 2016.
