‘I don’t want Medina to live in fear’

While everyone is talking about how the elderly are most susceptible to contracting Covid-19, and must be taken care of, Adnan Sami feels it’s equally important to talk about the mental and physical wellbeing of kids amid the crisis.
And that’s why the singercomposer reveals he’s being “extra careful and sensitive” in dealing with his three-yearold daughter, Medina, who, like many other kids, is at home for two months, and often gets irritable. “We don’t really talk about children, especially young ones. They watch videos online and see kids playing outside and they wonder why they can’t,” says Sami, adding that each time Medina says she wants to go out, “we distract her”.
The 46-year-old says that even amid the lockdown, he and his wife, Roya, are ensuring that Medina doesn’t feel deprived. They celebrated her third birthday recently, with a Frozen year, they’ll have to make a bank transfer,” she quips, adding, “Warm hugs, laughter, and conversations over good food will be badly missed. It’s on Eid that everyone comes together. But this time things would be different.”
Praying for everyone’s good health, Khan adds, “I know Muslims step out to meet and greet [on Eid].
