SESSION ON MENTAL HEALTH
uper 30’ and ‘Dangal’ actor Ritwik Sahore was in conversation with Lucknowites during a webinar held with media students recently. More than 50 students of film making and journalism from various colleges like IT College, National PG college, Ramswaroop College, JIMS and Modern Girls Degree College of Professional Studies participated during the digital interaction.
The students were very enthusiastic in their approach and asked some really relevant questions on tips for better acting and the difficulties in establishing oneself in the industry. The actor had an amazing interaction with students from Lucknow and other parts of the country. Ritwik answered all queries and gave an insight on how to prepare for the acting career.
“As an actor you need to concentrate on your skills and acting schools doesn’t teach that knowledge. That skill you have within yourself!” he said. Organiser Aryan Srivastava informed that their team has been scheduling such webinars for the students of media and film making to give them the knowledge of the world outside college and how they can approach their career in this field. Seeing the tremendous response from the students, they will be organizing such webinars in future as well, he informed.
An online counselling session was organised by City International School for their students recently. The session was held to provide psychological support and counselling of students to cope up any type of mental health problems in the times of Covid19 crises. The session was addressed by Dr Rashmi Soni.
The session was held for two days. On the first day students discussed their problems and issues which they are facing during the lockdown like anger and frustration due to network issues during online classes. Positive parenting session was discussed the second day to release the stress and anxiety of parents related to their children and make them think positively. They interacted with the counsellor and discussed about mental health which includes lack of concentration and absent mindness of the child, informed school’s manager Shahab Hyder.
Dr Soni said, “It is very important that the parents spend quality time with their children and engage them in some activity, games or story narration.” She also emphasized that parents should listen their child patiently.
