Now we are trying to restart slowly but cautiously

- AKANKSHA SHAKYA CHANDRA,

Now we are trying to find out ways to restart slowly but cautiously. As it is said, ‘As you sow, so shall you reap,’ we humans too have reaped trouble. I see this pandemic as a result of ignoring and destroying Mother Nature for so long. The situation we are facing right now made us believe that we humans are not superior to nature. We humans are just visitors here, not the masters. Hope we have learnt our lesson and once all this is over we never ever repeat the same mistakes.

Lockdown was a very difficult period for everyone including me. Being an entrepreneur dealing with handicraft and home décor venture, my work too was badly affected. I faced many difficulties. On one hand my designers and workmen were stuck in lockdown and then once the lockdown was relaxed the cases started to rise. So we did face difficulty in business and it did affect us both mentally as well as financially.

We never knew life was going to be so very difficult but then when I saw so many people out there struggling to make ends meet I realised that we were a little lucky in terms of having food on plate and a house to live. Being a fighter I knew I had to bounce back for my team and family. Now we are trying to find out ways to restart slowly but cautiously.

When we all were stuck at home and left with our mobiles, I did get a chance to pass on my skills to new entrants in my field as well as polish my own skills. I started my own YouTube channel and tried to motivate others to learn about the craft. So for me this whole journey has been a roller coaster ride where in we have lost a lot but at the same time gained a bit too.
