PAYING TRIBUTE TO A HERO
The nation remembered Kalpana Chawla, the first woman astronaut of Indian origin, on her death anniversary yesterday. A large number of netizens took to Twitter to pay tribute to her. She was one of the seven crew members of Space Shuttle Columbia who gave their lives in the pursuit of science. We’ll forever have them in our hearts.
Actor Lisa Ray took to Instagram to share a beautiful reclining Buddha statue against the backdrop of a Buddha on a lotus throne. She captioned it, “Nothing in this world lasts, strive relentlessly for liberation.” It’s true, nothing is permanent, we all strive to liberate from limitations of expectations, words and thoughts and be in a Buddha-like state.
Just by being alert, two Railway Police Force personnel saved a 79-year-old passenger from falling into the platform gap when he was trying to board the Punjab Mail. Kudos to the presence of mind of these heroes!
