Actor Karan Kundrra is currently shooting for his upcoming project in Gujarat, amid the second wave of the pandemic. While he admits being concerned over the situation, the drive to help others, particularly those who’ve suffered massive losses, keeps him going.
“I’m in a position to help others and I’d like to do that. My mother is also worried and asked me why I was taking this risk, and I told her that whatever little help I can provide is going to be bigger than the risk I’m taking,” says the actor, adding, “Many people in our industry have not been
Nworking for almost a year now and they don’t have any money to feed their families and that’s something which really makes me sad.”
And to help the needy battle the ongoing health crisis, Kundrra has donated wellness kits through a foundation. “I’ve been trying to post stories on social media about requirements and requests related to Covid-19 but when you get so many messages on social media, it gets very difficult to figure out whether they are genuine or not. That’s why I wanted to contribute essentials directly though a right channel,” says the Dolly Kitty Aur Woh Chamakte Sitare (2019) actor.

I’m only trying to inspire people to help each other,” says Punia, 27, who has been using social media to amplify SOS messages and spread awareness about the pandemic. “The Olympics will happen again in four years, but life is most important. So I’m trying to do my best for others,” he shares.
A three time World championship medallist, Punia has recently recovered from an elbow injury and is preparing his beast mode for the Tokyo Games! “Vaise tournaments mein apni training ka actual pata chalta hai, ki hum kahan galti kar rahe hain. But even in their absence, I’m still trying to be my personal best,” he says. And his biggest supporter in these tough times is wife and fellow wrestler Sangeeta Phogat, who he married in November 2020. “Whenever I feel I’m making a mistake or not training properly, we sit down, have a discussion and analyse my practice. It’s great that she understands, loves the sport as much as I do,” he concludes.
