City lass Arushee named best swimmer
LUCKNOW: Meerut swimmers dominated the proceedings in State Junior Acquatics Championship in Saifai bagging top honours in as boys’ Group II, girls’ Group I and girls’ Group II cate gories. The team won 11 gold in girls’ Group I, 19 in girls’ group II and eight in boys’ Group II. In boys’ Group I category, Mirzapure claimed top honours with 11 gold medals.
Lucknow’s Arushee Wahi was adjudged best swimmer in girls’ Group I while Meerut-girl achieved the same honour in girls’ Group II.
Mirzapur boys Yogeshwar Prasad and Atish Kumar walked away with best swimmer award in boys’ Group I and Group II catgeores respectively.
As many as seven new meet records were made on the last day of the championship. In all, the thee-day event saw 21 meet records tumble.
