- HT Correspondent

A 27-year-old man was found dead under mysterious circumstances in the city outskirts here in Kakori area on Saturday. It has been alleged that the victim’s younger brother’s wife killed him over property dispute. The deceased’s father has lodged an FIR of murder against her and some unidentified persons in this connection.

The deceased was identified as Sanjay Rawat, a resident of Bhattatola village in Kakori. He was missing since he left his house for some work on Friday evening. His body was later found lying in an abandoned plot near a liquor shop.

The deceased’s father, Babu Lal Rawat had raised doubts over his death and suspected his daughter-in-law Kamla, the wife of his younger son Manoj, of murdering him. He said Kamla often used to threaten the deceased with dire consequences over property for the last two years. He said the woman allegedly got the victim killed through hired killers.

Mukhram Yadav, inspector of Kakori police station said the victim’s body was sent for the post-mortem examination but the cause of death could not be ascertained. He said the viscera have been preserved for further examination. However, further probe is going on after registering an FIR of murder against the deceased’s sister-in-law.
