3-year-old boy falls into septic tank, dies

LUCKNOW: A three-year-old boy, Sarvesh Kumar died after falling into an open septic tank at the Rani Laxmi Bai government hospital here in Talkatora on Thursday evening. His mother, Sanju, a sanitation worker at the hospital stays on the campus.

AP Singh, station officer of Talkatora police station, said the boy went missing around 4 pm when he was playing outside his house. His parents got worried when they didn’t find him for over an hour. They checked the septic tank after finding Sarvesh’s slippers lying near it and found his body floating inside.

He was rushed to the hospital but was declared brought dead.

Singh said the families staying on the campus were complaining about the negligence of hospital administration due to which the septic tank was not covered. He said the boy’s family had so far not blamed anyone for the incident.
