Central office of Apna Dal locked

-

LUCKNOW: The dispute between Apna Dal national president Krishna Patel and sitting MP Anupriya Patel took a new turn on Thursday when supporters of Krishna Patel locked the central office of the party in Lalbagh here.

Anupriya has convened a meeting of the national and state executive, district unit in-charges and other office bearers of the party to discuss her removal from the general secretary’s post by her mother Krishna Patel. Fearing that a resolution would be passed against Krishna, her supporters put a lock on the party office.

HT tried to contact Krishna, but in vain. Anupriya however said: “I am out of the city. I got the information about it. I would reach Lucknow soon and discuss the issue with my supporters,” she said. Earlier, Anupriya had lashed out at SP chief Mulayam of trying to create problems in the party, alleging that he did not want any backward caste leader to come in the forefront of UP politics.
