RAPE, KIDNAPPING, LAND GRABBING CASE AGAINST SHAHSHWAN MLA

LUCKNOW: On the order of Badaun district court, police registered a case of rape, kidnapping and land grabbing against sitting SP MLA from Shahshwan, Omkar Singh Yadav, along with sub registrar Vimal Kumar Shukla and four other persons, including Jamuna Singh, Jogendra, Girdhari and Devendra Singh. In the petition to the court, family members of the woman said she was kidnapped on July 17, 2013 near Rasulpur village. A complaint was handed to the then SSP and ADM but police did not do anything to free the girl, who was released only after her kin gave Rs 50,000 as ransom to the kidnappers in December 2013. The woman told her family that during captivity the kidnappers not only committed rape but also forced her to sign a stamp paper. Later, the SP MLA got the land registered in his name with the assistance of the sub registrar. Incharge of Zafarinaga­r police station, Satyadev Yadav, said FIR has been registered against the MLA and police have started investigat­ion. HT contacted Omkar Singh Yadav for his version but he refused to comment.
