Centre’s search for new NATGRID CEO broadens

NEW DELHI: The Centre is planning to broad base its search for new chief of the National Intelligence Grid (NATGRID) after only one name came up for consideration in the last meeting of its search committee.

“When the search the committee, headed by special secretary (internal security) Prakash Mishra, met recently, it found only the name of former IIT-Kanpur director Sanjay Dhande has come for consideration. Therefore, it was decided to look for other contenders as well as recommending only one name didn’t seem fair,” said a senior government official requesting anonymity.
