UPSACS PLANS A WORLD RECORD WITH AIDS RIBBON

Lucknow may witness a world record soon, as the UP State Aids Control Society (UPSACS) plans to make the world’s largest AIDS awareness red ribbon of condom packets. “The ribbon will be made in collaboration with Indian Institute of Management, Lucknow. We are planning to make a 20 X 10 ft ribbon, “said Dr Sangeeta Pandey of UPSACS. “Over 5,000 packets will be used to make the ribbon, which we hope will make it to the record books on November 16,” said Sharad Agrawal, CEO of Hindustan Latex Family Planning Promotion Trust that is providing the condom packs.The venue is Moti Mahal. The objective is to generate awareness regarding AIDS and safe sex. The condom packets are being used purposely to encourage more use.
